The managers

The managers of the two Juniper Tree centres are ex-patriate volunteers, appointed by the Juniper Tree Trustees, and have full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the centres. This includes:
  • serving as hosts to the missionary guests
  • maintaining the properties, buildings and equipment
  • agreeing donation requests and controlling the expenditure
  • managing and paying the staff
  • maintaining the quality of the service provided to guests
  • managing the office systems and procedures
  • overseeing the security and IT systems.

Support

It is a full-time, unpaid role. Managers raise their own support from churches, friends and family, or have private means to support themselves.

However, each centre provides managers with:
  • meals and furnished accommodation on-site, including water, electricity and Wi-Fi
  • one return airfare each year (to allow for one month off per year in their passport country)
  • annual medical and repatriation insurance
  • costs incurred to obtain visas and work permits (non-Immigrant 'O' visa and work permit)
